I used to make envelopes for “money gifts” using templates. But I'm a lazy person... and I tried to "optimize" this process a little...

Now you don’t have to print or trace the template. And if you also break everything down into stages - first cut out the bases into several envelopes, then cut off the excess (again from several blanks), then score, etc.... it turns out very quickly. I still have about 20 blanks for envelopes in stock :-)))

Of course, maybe many people do just that... and for many this MK is not needed at all... But if it is useful to someone, I will be very glad...

So, I needed:

- layout mat (I have A3 format)
- paper
- stationery or breadboard knife
- ruler
- pen with non-writing refill

I usually make a blank measuring 19cm (the width of the envelope will be 17cm) by 21cm (folded 8cm). The result is an envelope measuring 8*17cm.
At first I made a blank 19 by 24 cm, as shown below in photo 92-93-94. But there are too many scraps of paper left over. If you try, you will understand...
Just don’t be scared by so many photos - I just tried to “capture” the process in sooooo much detail, in fact, everything is not difficult at all.

It is very convenient to cut from an A4 sheet, because... one of the sides is exactly 21 cm.
Using a mock-up mat also makes the work much easier, but you can do without it, you just need to mark the necessary points with a pencil.

Look, you can see in the photo that I aligned the edges of the paper blank:
- on the left - with the edge of the marking
- bottom - 1 cm above the edge
The ruler is at the 19 cm mark. I aligned the ruler on top - clearly according to the markings. There is no need to measure or mark distances - it is easy to cut using the grid on the mat.

Now we turn the part over (the long side should be at the bottom - 21 cm), and aligning it with the grid, we choose where we will make the folds. This will depend on the external design of the envelope.
In general, for starters, you can try, as I already said, to make an envelope from a 19*24 cm blank. Then we do creasing every 8 cm. And then we cut off the excess.
But I’m not only lazy....but also thrifty... (oh, or greedy????)
Well... I admit, the hamster did not bypass me, so a couple of centimeters of saved paper will come in handy... Therefore, I choose one of the options for laying out the workpiece along the rug grid. The arrows indicate the starting points for creasing. The main thing is that there is a distance of 8 cm between the arrows (the width of the envelope).

Look at the centimeters on the mat and you can see how the ratio of the edges of the workpiece changes, but the arrows are still at 8 and 16 cm.

I do scoring at the selected points. I’m happy again - how convenient it is to use the mat!!! It is enough to combine the ruler with the markings, and here you have the required distance, right angle, etc.

Look how, again, strictly according to the markings, I laid out the unfolded workpiece, stepping back a little from the edge of the marked grid on the mat. The short side of 19 cm is at the bottom.

I cut strictly to the second arrow.

Using a pen with a non-writing point, I mark the fold lines. You see, marking the rug came in handy again.

Or it could be simpler - mark the middle of the envelope...

Or you can do this! This is where... a plate comes in handy. Again, the main thing is to place our plate exactly according to the markings. One point is the middle of the envelope.

The other two are the points where the side edges of the envelope come into contact with the plate. They should be at an equal distance from the edge line of the envelope... I may have written it unclearly, but in reality everything is much simpler.

I press the plate and immediately cut it. Or you can draw a line with a pencil and cut it with scissors. But if you “cut it on a plate,” it turns out smoother, at least for me.

We bend it, glue it - we get an inner pocket for money. I like the Moment-Papyrus glue...

This is basically how the envelopes are decorated inside. I also put in a piece of paper - suddenly there will be people who want to not only put money in, but also write a wish.

When the ribbon tie does not encircle the envelope, I hide its tip on the reverse side like this.

1) Check the very center of the sheet point, measuring the distance to it using a ruler.

2) Fold the left and right sides inward so that the corners touch center point.

3) Then fold the bottom side up so that it covers the center and can be glued to two already folded corners.

4) Apply glue to the bottom sides of the envelope as shown in the photo. You can also use double-sided tape.

3) Unfold the sides and fold in the corners in the form of a triangle.

4) Unfold the envelope and stick on a rectangle of colored paper measuring 20 by 23 centimeters in the center of a sheet of plain paper.

5) Fold superfluous inside the envelope.

6) Side corners in the form of triangles stick with glue to the bottom of the envelope.

7) Satin ribbon 1 centimeter wide glue in the center on the back and front of the envelope, leaving the ends to make bow.

8) Place a narrow tape over the wide one 0.5 centimeters wide, also leaving the ends for the bow.

9) Process the ends of the tape fire so that it doesn't fall apart.

10) Tie ribbons with a bow. Your original money envelope is ready.

Option 2:

1) Using a pencil and ruler, measure width of the future envelope depending on what you put in it. If it will be a discount card, attach it to the felt and measure on both sides 1 centimeter for seam.

2) Cut rectangular piece of felt, then bend the lower part and pin it with pins. Insert the card inside to determine the size of the lid.

3) Cut off the top superfluous.

4) Finish the edges with threads, making U-shaped stitches. It is better to use threads in a contrasting color.

5) Cut out of green felt three small Christmas trees or any other details.

6) Glue the Christmas trees with back outside of the envelope. Sew small buttons on the tops of the trees.

7) From the outside of the front of the envelope at the bottom sew on a button, and attach to the edge of the lid threads so that the envelope can be closed and tied with a bow.

Money envelope scrapbooking

This envelope using the scrapbooking technique is easy to make at home using parts cut out of paper. Scrapbooking– a technique for decorating photo albums, as well as various other products using paper applications, beads, etc.

To work you will need:

- White cardboard (23 by 23 centimeters)

Colored paper (23 by 20 centimeters)

Colored paper of a different shade or pattern (8 by 14 centimeters)

Plain thin white paper or thin lace

Let's get started:

1) Using a ready-made template, cut out from white cardboard blank for the future envelope.

2) Cut out of colored paper two rectangular blanks, which will match the tops of the envelope. The blanks must be by a few millimeters less base so that they can be easily glued and so that they do not extend beyond the edges.

3) Cut out from paper of a different color two more blanks of the same width, but shorter - this will be the middle of your envelope.

4) Glue on the sides of these parts lace frill. You can use paper lace or very thin lace ribbons.

5) Glue the lace parts to larger colored parts.

6) Glue all the parts to outside of the envelope on the outer main cover and on the inner cover. Then go around the edge with your sewing machine. zigzag seam. You can also glue the colored part onto the back outer side of the envelope, and then process it on a sewing machine.

7) Before gluing the colored part to the back, insert between the part and the base satin ribbon.

DIY wedding envelope

The best wedding gift is money that can be placed in beautiful handmade envelope.

To work you will need:

- A sheet of white thick A4 paper

Light colored paper

Decorative cord

A piece of thin translucent fabric

Sewing machine and thread

Let's get started:

1) If your colored paper is not very thick, glue it on a sheet of white paper A4 format and let dry well.

2) Using the template provided or any other template, draw on the back of the sheet outlines of the future envelope and make a pattern. The folds are indicated by the blue dotted line.

3) Cut out the pattern. You can use curly scissors.: tie the ribbons and cords with a bow, make a flower from transparent fabric, attach a cord to the key-shaped part.

9) Glue the lace tape at the top of the part, grabbing the lace, which will wrap around the envelope, so leave a suitable length for this. Glue decorations to the bottom triangular edge of the piece.

10) To be safe, go over the line glued lace tape.

Now you can get to work. But first, make a sketch of the entire composition.

On a sheet of cardboard, make an envelope template according to size, cut off any excess and use a ruler to bend the paper along the fold lines.

If you have a hole punch, use it to process the edges for decoration, make a corner on the edge of the envelope so that the openwork edge is inside.
Now you need to form an envelope. Use double-sided tape to seal the edges. You can use colored pencils to go over the areas you like for shading.
Make a template from scrap paper and glue it to the back, coloring the edges with a dark marker. Inside, go through stamps with wishes everywhere, but try not to put too many of them so that the product does not look cheap.
Decorate the sides of your money envelope with satin ribbons or tie it in an original manner in the center so that the contents do not fall out.
Now you need to decorate the front side. Decorate the edges with lace ribbons, various artificial flowers, and wooden templates in the shape of hearts or angels. Add all sorts of half beads and rhinestones. If you have glitter, run it around the edges or surfaces of the hearts and flowers.

We take a sheet of colored cardboard in A4 format, a ruler, scissors, a pencil and a nail file. We divide our landscape sheet into three parts, the two outer parts are the same size, and the middle part is the largest. We draw even invisible lines along the width of the cardboard, getting bend lines. Using a corner punch, round off all four corners. We see more details in the photographs.

We divide a sheet of scrap paper into three rectangles that correspond to the size of the cardboard blank. Smaller rectangles are rounded on one side with a corner hole punch, as shown in the photographs.

We measure out two pieces of satin light brown ribbon, each 10 cm in size, and burn the edges with a lighter so that they do not unravel. We glue small strips of tape in the center and glue our ribbons on both sides to the cardboard, where the smaller sides are. Then we glue the scrap paper blanks on top with double-sided tape, as shown in the picture.

Finally, we begin decorating the front of our envelope. We form a semicircle of white lace and glue it with glue, glue a rose on top, cut out white butterflies, half beads and tie the envelope with a bow, look at the photo below.

2. Bend the sheet diagonally and straighten it back. Cut it along the remaining fold line.

3. We end up with two large triangles of equal size. We will make our envelope from one.

4. On the long side, mark the middle either using a ruler and pencil (in this case, do not forget to erase the mark), or bend the triangle in half and pinch the very end. After this, you need to straighten the sheet again.

5. Bend all the corners of the triangle to this midpoint.

6. From the remaining triangular part of the sheet we will make a backing for decorations. You can do without it if the decor does not include borders, machine stitching and other decorative solutions that will damage the appearance of the reverse side.

7. We measure the required size using a ruler. But do not forget to take into account that the substrate should be 5 mm smaller on each side. Let's cut it off.

8. Assembling the envelope. To do this, we fasten only the base, bending the corners towards the middle, which we marked earlier. For this purpose, we use instant glue, a hot glue gun, or sew it on a machine.

9. The envelope is ready. Let's start decorating.

10. Using a shaped hole punch, cut out borders from thick paper. Their width should be the same as the side of the smaller sides of the substrate triangle. So that its corners do not peek out, we cut them at an angle of 45? or less. Wedding envelopes made using the scrapbooking technique often have similar decorative elements: they look very impressive and delicate, imitating lace.

11. Glue our borders to the back of the backing.

12. We continue to decorate the envelope. We lay out all the decorative elements that your soul desires: stickers, raffia, flowers, bows, etc. But we don’t glue them on yet, having decided in advance on the location of the composition elements.

13. Using a stamp, we apply a congratulatory inscription. First, we look at the stamping location.

Prints can be very different, from small pictures to monograms, which are especially often used when making scrapbooking envelopes for money for a wedding, wedding and children's albums, and greeting cards. If necessary, you can make other stamps on our envelope in the same way. This must be done before fixing all the elements so that the print is even and clear.

16. Let's prepare the flowers. They are usually sold with a wire leg. It can be cut if it is not required for decoration, or you can use a thin knitting needle to make a curl decoration.
