Crafts - do-it-yourself birds from different materials. Panel “Firebird” from autumn leaves How to make a bird from leaves

Master Class. Application from dry leaves “Bird”

Head: Victoria Aleksandrovna Ostanina, teacher of preschool education school No. 53 “Silver Hoof”

Each of us sees the world differently. Allow your child to create, and he will exceed your expectations!! Children have so much imagination! The teacher’s task is to support the child in his endeavors, to push him on the right path, to give him the opportunity to express himself. Manual labor is useful and exciting. Applique of dry leaves is a very interesting activity. Create with your children, make the world brighter!

Target: teach children to make applications from dry leaves.

Tasks:

Learn to work with dry leaves;

Promote the development of children's imagination;

Develop accuracy in manual labor classes.

This master class will be useful for kindergarten teachers working with children of middle and high school age (children 4-6 years old).

For work you will need the following materials: colored cardboard, colored paper, glue, scissors, pencil, dry leaves of various shapes, feather, twig, maple fruits.

Progress

Educator: Hello guys! Creativity is an amazing process! It allows us to make something beautiful out of almost nothing! I suggest you make a picture from what lies under our feet!!! These are dry leaves, a twig, a feather…. And the result will surprise you! Begin?

The children answer.

Educator: Listen, please:

Oh, how many birds there are in the world:

Parrots and tits,

Kingfishers and crossbills,

Pelicans and blackbirds.

There are magpies, sparrows,

There are flamingos and nightingales.

Pigeons, cuckoos,

Little warblers.

Crow, falcon and owl

(she sits in the hollow during the day)

The woodpecker is knocking on the trunk,

A quail is calling in the field.

You know, there are so many of them!

We can't count them all!

They make us happy with singing

And wild plumage!

Educator: That's how many birds there are in the world! Today we will make birds. Each of you will make your own bird. But let's discuss what every bird has?

The children answer.

Educator: Each bird has a body, a head, wings and a tail.

And so mischievous eyes and a sharp beak. Birds fly and sit on branches.

Think a little about what kind of bird you will have and let's get to work.

1. Take a sheet of colored cardboard, for example blue.

Now we will glue a branch on which the bird will sit.

You need to hold the twig so that it sticks.

2. Now we will make the bird itself. We need a set of leaves like this.

Gently spread the back side of the largest sheet - this is the body,

and paste it onto the background. Now we do the same with the leaf, which will be the head of our bird.

Now let's make a ponytail. We smear 2 long leaves. Glue it.

Now let's move on to the wing.

So our bird is ready.

AUTUMN-FIREBIRD

Autumn-Firebird flapped its wings,

Everything lit up with colored lights:

Tree crowns, bushes and paths,

Grasses in the fields and dewdrops on the grass,

And the clouds over the overgrown river,

The water in the river also became colored.

The colors play, caress, call.

The colors of autumn sing hymns.

I bring to your attention a panel made of seeds, leaves and berries, easy to make and original! (photo ris1.jpg)

This work can be done with children of preschool and school age. Using a finished picture, preschoolers gain the ability to smear plasticine and work with natural materials, while older children can complete the work themselves with their own hands.

Target— production of the painting “Autumn - Firebird”.

Tasks:

1. teach how to work with plasticine and natural materials;

2. consolidate skills - smearing plasticine over a drawing;

3. instill aesthetic taste, respect for nature, accustom to accuracy and attentiveness.

Equipment: cardboard, pencil, eraser, plasticine and natural materials - seeds of various trees, rowan fruits, leaves.

Progress

1. Draw a bird or a tree branch with a pencil.

2. Roll small balls of plasticine. We begin to spread the plasticine in a layer of 2-3 mm.

First - the bird's head, then the body, tail and wings. At the end we form a tree branch on which the bird sits (photo ris6.jpg).

3. Prepare the seeds for work. We separate them from the branch.

4. We begin to attach the seeds from the bird’s tail upward, pressing them into the plasticine.

5. Place the second layer of seeds exactly on half of the first layer, covering it.

6. In this way we reach the neck of the bird and make wings, starting to attach seeds from the tips of the wings.

7. We make a beak from two seeds, attach a rowan eye to a piece of plasticine, and make a crest for the bird on top.

8. Attach the branch. You can decorate a tree branch with rowan fruits, which will give the picture bright colors.

10. Children understand the technique of work, and they do it with pleasure.

Bottom line.

During this work, the child learns to be neat, attentive, and work with plasticine and natural materials; develop fine motor skills; We instill respect for nature and aesthetic taste. Adeline really liked it, and we came up with new paintings with natural material of golden autumn.

"Firebird"

Autumn is a wonderful Firebird,

Arrived just before dawn.

I wasn't afraid to go down

In the palm of September.

I recognized her by her color -

There are no brighter colors in the world.

This bird was sent to us

Gods of fairy planets.

Chorus:

Firebird fiery autumn,

Don’t get caught in the snare of despondency,

Don't hit the ground with slanting rain,

The forest landscape is more wonderful than Gzhel,

How long will this grace last?

Firebird autumn, really?

Are you going to fly away?

I'll take a walk where the maples are,

In a leafy snowstorm.

Leaf scorched by the Firebird,

I'll save it as a keepsake.

This is the backstage of fairy tales,

Quiet forest like the Garden of Eden -

Gilded leaves

Like feathers circling.

Chorus:

Firebird fiery autumn,

Don’t get caught in the snare of despondency,

Don't hit the ground with slanting rain,

Soar up with the fire of the fire.

DIY Firebird: step-by-step master class for children on making panels from natural materials.

DIY Firebird

Materials and tools for making DIY “Firebird” crafts

To make the firebird we will need:

— Colored cardboard

— Firebird stencil for applique (you can draw it yourself or download a ready-made one)

— Plasticine

— Natural materials.

We used natural materials in the firebird applique:

- ash seeds,

- flax seeds,

- buckwheat,

- bird feathers.

You can use whatever you see fit in making crafts. For example, make your firebird only from cereals or only from seeds.

How to make a firebird from natural materials with your own hands: step-by-step description

The Firebird is made in mixed media with elements of plasticineography and appliqué using a ready-made stencil.

How to do it with children:

Step 1. Apply the firebird stencil to colored cardboard and trace it.

Step 2. Fill the template with plasticine. To do this, tear off small pieces of plasticine and form small balls. We spread the balls on the cardboard with a stack or with our fingers, filling the firebird template with a thin layer of plasticine. We try not to go beyond the boundaries of the drawing so as not to leave stains.

Step 3. Glue ash seeds onto the silhouette of the firebird, starting from the tail. We form the wings. The body of the bird can be decorated with seeds or cereals. Instead of ash seeds, you can use willow leaves, they are also thin. The panel is ready!

The second option for making a firebird with your own hands

You will learn another option for making a very original three-dimensional 3D craft “Firebird” with your own hands together with children from natural materials in the master class

We wish you pleasant moments of creativity and inspiration! See you again on the “Native Path”!

Author of the master class: This work was sent to our “Autumn Workshop” competition by a reader of “Native Path”, additional education teacher Natalia Chavdarovna Tsvetkova (Vologda region, Cherepovets). The article contains photographs of crafts made by children aged 7-9 years from Natalia Chavdarovna’s studio: the association “The World Around Us” MBOU DOD “Palace of Children and Youth Creativity named after A.A. Alekseeva.

You will find more interesting ideas for crafts with children in the following sections:

Children are easily captivated by something new and interesting. If your child is already bored with drawing or modeling, you can invite him to make crafts from bright autumn leaves. This process is extremely fascinating - amazing things are born from simple dried leaves with the help of glue, thread and other improvised devices. By taking up appliqué or making vases and bouquets, the child will not only be able to develop his creative skills and imagination, but also get to know the environment better. Collecting a herbarium for crafts together is an excellent opportunity to teach your child to distinguish between different tree species. So, what can you make from leaves?

Preparing leaves for crafts

To make any craft from leaves, you only need well-dried material; fresh leaves are not suitable. Preparing the leaves takes a long time, so you will have to be patient. In addition, the material needs to be dried correctly, here are the basic rules:

  1. If the evenness of the leaves is not important for the craft, they can be placed in a spacious container (for example, a large wicker basket) and left in the fresh air. This will allow the leaves to dry quickly and allow air circulation to prevent mold from developing.
  2. To get perfectly smooth leaves, you need to place them between book pages or album sheets under a press. Carefully place the material between the sheets of books or albums. It will take at least 14 days for the material to completely dry and be ready for use.
  3. If you don't want to wait a long time, you can use a special herbarium press. To do this, fold a stack of leaves, alternating each layer with newsprint or scrap sheets. In a few days, the material for the crafts will be ready.

How to Skeleton Leaves

Leaf skeletons, due to their lightness and transparency, look very impressive as decoration. To achieve this effect, you need to resort to a special technique - skeletonization.

What you will need:

  • any fresh leaves;
  • soda;
  • egg dye;
  • small container - ladle or pan;
  • Toothbrush;
  • paper napkins.

How to make skeletonized leaves:

  1. Mix soda and water in proportions of 1 to 4 and place the leaves in the prepared solution so that they are completely hidden by water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil and leave to simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the pan from the stove and remove the leaves, carefully placing them on the table with the glossy side up.
  4. Remove excess moisture using napkins.
  5. Clean the pulp from the leaf with a brush (this must be done very carefully, the leaves are quite fragile).
  6. Rinse the skeleton under water and then paint it the desired color.
  7. Leave the painted skeletonized leaves to dry.

The resulting material is ready for use.

Bouquet of flowers from leaves

A bouquet is the simplest thing that can be made from leaves, and it is worth starting with it if the child has not previously done such crafts. To make a craft in the form of a home bouquet, it is not necessary to use real flowers, dry them, etc. The buds can be made from multi-colored leaves collected on a walk. Involve children in every step of the process, creating a real creative workshop.

What you will need to make the craft:

  • maple leaves (fresh) with stems;
  • spool of strong thread.

To make a bud from maple leaves, you will need to perform several steps:

  1. First take one sheet and fold it with the glossy side out.
  2. Roll the leaf into a tube.
  3. Fold the next sheet in half and wrap it around the tube.
  4. Continue wrapping the leaves around the bud until the flower is quite full.
  5. Wrap a thread around the base of the bud to prevent the flower from falling apart.

Using this method, you can make any number of flowers, which are then simply collected into a bouquet.

Topiaries can be made from a variety of materials. You can often find crafts made from coffee, banknotes, sweets, hearts, etc. This version of topiary involves the use of maple leaves.

So, what is needed for topiary:

  • pot;
  • wooden stick for the trunk;
  • a foam or foam ball as a base;
  • gypsum;
  • dye;
  • hot glue;
  • elements for decoration.

The procedure for creating an autumn topiary looks like this:

  1. The stick must be inserted into the pot and secured tightly with gypsum mortar. As a result, the structure will be strong and stable.
  2. Paint the pot and stick a color you like, such as gold to match the leaves.
  3. We attach a foam ball to the top of the stick - this is the future crown of the tree.
  4. Stick the required number of leaves into the ball. For decoration, you can use berry bunches, ribbons, beads, as well as artificial twigs and flowers. To make the leaf stems more durable, they must first be soaked in a hot solution of glycerin (1 to 2) and left in this form for 10 days in a dark, cool place .
  5. Next, we decorate the trunk and soil of the tree using dry moss, bark, and beads.

How to make a decorative autumn wreath

You can weave a beautiful wreath from bright autumn leaves to decorate windows, doors, walls, etc. A wreath attached to the front door will delight not only you, but also your guests.

What you will need for the craft:

  • flexible branches of any tree;
  • dried leaves of different colors (contrasting combinations, for example, yellow and red, look best);
  • bunches of red berries (rowan, viburnum, etc.);
  • physalis;
  • glue;
  • spool of strong threads;
  • decorative metallized threads;
  • small bird figurines for bouquets.

How to weave a wreath:

  1. The branches will serve as a frame - make a round or oval wreath out of them.
  2. For strength, secure the structure with thread in several places.
  3. Wrap the frame tightly with gold thread, leaving small branches free.
  4. Glue the leaves to the branches.
  5. Attach the berry clusters using thread.
  6. Glue or wrap physalis with threads.
  7. Finally, attach the birds to the wreath.

A finished craft made from leaves in the form of a wreath can be hung anywhere in the house; it will delight you with its beauty for a long time and remind you of the most colorful time of the year.

Beautiful autumn leaves can be used not only for simple children’s crafts, but also for complete interior decoration. One such product is a fruit bowl.

To make such a vase you need:

  • glue and brush;
  • inflatable ball;
  • petrolatum;
  • scissors;
  • maple leaves.

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Inflate the balloon to the size you need.
  2. Lubricate the surface of the ball with Vaseline, this is necessary so that the leaves do not stick to it during the process and are easily separated from it.
  3. Fix the ball in a stationary state, this will make it more convenient for you to make your vase.
  4. Glue maple leaves to the ball, having first generously coated them with glue.
  5. To make the vase strong enough, you will need several layers of maple leaves.
  6. As soon as the last layer is completed, carefully coat the product with glue again and leave for 3 days.
  7. Burst or deflate the balloon and remove any remaining residue from the product.

The original interior decoration is ready.

Photo frame in autumn style

Children love decorating the walls of their room with their drawings and favorite photographs. A craft made from leaves in the form of a frame is perfect to complement the design of the room. Help your child decorate a frame with autumn leaves, where he will then place his favorite photo.

For the craft you need:

  • thick cardboard;
  • glue;
  • leaves you like;
  • pencil;
  • scissors.

How to make a frame:

  1. Cut a square or rectangular frame of the desired size from cardboard. The center of the frame where the photo will be placed needs to be cut slightly smaller than the size of the photo.
  2. To wrap a frame with leaves, first soak them in hot water, this will soften them and prevent them from tearing or breaking in the process.
  3. Glue the leaves onto the frame.
  4. Wait for the product to dry.

When the frame is ready, insert the photo into it, securing it with glue or tape.

Applications from autumn leaves

Appliques are one of the simplest types of crafts made from dried leaves. Using leaves of different shapes and sizes, you can create real pictures, which will then become a decoration for your home. You can make a whole series of panels united by a common theme. These can be animals, landscapes, etc. Next, several small master classes will be presented on making applications in the form of an owl, the Firebird, a fish and a lion.

Owl

To make an applique with an image of an owl, you will need:

  • small leaves of brown tones (for this you can use oak, willow, birch);
  • colored paper;
  • a small twig of thuja;
  • sheet of cardboard;
  • a bunch of rowan berries;
  • any tree branch;
  • glue.

Before starting work, the leaves and berries must be dried. Once all the materials are ready, it’s time to move on to the most important thing:

  1. Cut out the outline of an owl from cardboard.
  2. Birch or oak leaves will represent the ears and paws of an owl; glue them in the right places.
  3. For feathers, use long, narrow willow leaves.
  4. Cut out eyes and beak from colored paper and glue them on.
  5. Glue your owl onto a tree branch, which will become a stand for the craft.

For additional decoration, you can use moss or thuja branches. You can also use rowan trees as owl paws. The product is ready.

Firebird

For the Firebird applique you will need:

  • paper;
  • leaves of linden, birch and rosehip;
  • pumpkin seeds;
  • thuja twigs.

And here's what the process itself looks like:

  1. A linden leaf is glued to the place where the bird's body will be.
  2. Birch leaf - head.
  3. Rosehip leaves are glued individually onto the tail.
  4. Whole sprigs of rose hips will serve as an additional decoration for the tail.
  5. Glue birch leaves to the body, these will be the wings.
  6. Eyes are made from pumpkin seeds, as well as decorations for the body and tail of the Firebird.
  7. The final stage is a tuft from a thuja twig or any other suitable plant.

The firebird is ready.

a lion

Children love different animals, so they will be especially interested in making one of their familiar animals.

What you will need for the lion cub:

  • rounded yellow linden leaves;
  • black felt-tip pen;
  • ash seeds;
  • horse chestnut (nuts);
  • glue;
  • small pine branch;
  • scissors;
  • a sheet of yellow paper;
  • sheet of orange cardboard.

Having collected all the necessary materials, it’s time to start making crafts:

  1. Draw a lion's head on yellow paper or print the image on a printer and cut it out along the outline.
  2. For the mane, use linden leaves, gluing them around the head.
  3. Draw a nose for the lion and glue a chestnut in its place.
  4. Pine needles will be used for the mustache.
  5. The ash seed will represent a tongue.

As soon as the craft dries, it will be completely ready.

Fish

What child doesn't know about the goldfish that grants wishes? Making crafts with your own hands will be very entertaining for your child.

To make a fish craft you will need:

  • dry leaves of quince and linden, brown and yellow in color, respectively;
  • glue;
  • marker;
  • ash seeds;
  • acorns;
  • paper scissors;
  • sheet of blue paper.

How to do:

  1. Draw the outline of the fish on blue paper and cut it out.
  2. Make scales from linden leaves and glue them to the body of the fish.
  3. Use brown quince leaves to decorate the tail.
  4. Using acorn caps, draw the outline of the fish’s head.

That's it, the real goldfish is ready.

Every autumn, colorful leaves delight the eye as they fall to the ground. This beauty quickly fades in the rain, turning the leaves into a solid brown mass. However, there is a way to preserve the beauty and brightness of autumn leaves - dry them or skeletonize them and use them to make various things from children's crafts to interior decorations. This activity will appeal to both children and adults.

Bird crafts have always been very popular among lovers of home crafts. Figures of feathered creatures are especially relevant on Bird Day, which is celebrated in the spring on April 1 in kindergartens and schools. The holiday is dedicated to the return of migratory birds and marks the onset of spring and the renewal of awakened nature. On this day, children of all ages make bird crafts, and older schoolchildren make birdhouses and hang them on trees.

Bird crafts can be made from a wide variety of materials: cotton pads, colored paper, plastic bottles, salt dough, natural and any available materials. There are many options for creating birds - from simple ones for small children to complex ones that schoolchildren can easily master with the help of adults.

We bring to your attention several lessons on creating birds with your own hands with step-by-step instructions, diagrams and tips. We hope that they will help you learn all the intricacies of this fascinating process and be filled with new bright ideas.

We will need: plastic bottles of various colors, polystyrene foam, a wooden block as a stand, a metal rod, foil and thin colored plastic, a glue gun.

Step one: Cut out the peacock's body and head from foam plastic, not forgetting to make small indentations in place of the eyes. We attach it to a wooden block using a metal rod, which plays the role of legs.

Step two. We make enough peacock feathers from plastic bottles of different colors. We will need three types of feathers: long for the tail, short for the neck and a little longer for the body. To do this, cut off the bottom and neck of the bottle and cut it lengthwise into 3 parts.

We round one end of each strip with scissors and cut its edges into thin strips so that it looks like a bird’s feather. We decorate the rounded end of the feathers intended for the tail with two or three multi-colored ovals made of foil and plastic. You can attach them using a stapler.

Step three. We cut out a beak from a red plastic bottle and fasten it in place. Next, using a glue gun, we gradually glue the feathers onto the body of the bird, starting from the tail and ending with the neck. Attach the feathers slightly overlapping, as shown in the photo. Do not forget that medium-length feathers are intended for the body, and meek ones for the neck.

Step four. We cut out a tuft of any shape that our imagination dictates from colored plastic and glue it onto the head. Using acrylic paints, draw the peacock's eyes. You can glue eyelashes cut from a transparent plastic bottle to them.

Step five. Let's start making the tail using an abrasive mesh. We make holes at the base of the feathers and attach them to the mesh using thin wire.

We start making the tail from the end, gradually layering feathers on top of each other in rows until the bird’s luxurious long tail is completely formed. After that, we attach it to the body and place the peacock, made with our own hands from plastic bottles, in an area among flowers and greenery.

DIY firebird made from salt dough - master class

For Bird Day, you and your children can make a three-dimensional firebird from salt dough. The work will take little time, require very few materials and will provide the children with a fun and festive mood.

We will need: salt dough, gouache or watercolor paints, colorless varnish.

Step one. Making salt dough. To do this, mix a glass of flour with a glass of salt and knead the dough by pouring 100 ml of brewed starch into it. We prepare it as follows: dilute a tablespoon of starch in 100 ml of cold water and pour a glass of boiling water into this mixture.

Step two. Divide the salt dough into 5 pieces and paint them in different colors. To do this, add gouache or watercolor paints to each piece and lightly knead it again. Next, we draw a sketch of the firebird and sculpt the bird’s details on it: wings and body. Dry them in the oven at low temperature.

Step three. We make the tail of a fairytale bird. We draw stencils of feathers and use them to sculpt them from pink and blue salt dough. Dry the feathers in the oven. Next, we paint all the parts of the bird with paints, cover them with colorless varnish, and connect them. We decorate a colorful festive panel with crafts. The salt dough firebird is ready!

Birds made from cotton pads - master class

Another very cute craft that is perfect for decorating a kindergarten on the wonderful holiday Bird Day. It's easy, fun and very fast. Young children can be introduced to making birds from cotton pads.

For creativity we will need: cotton pads, wooden skewers, colored paper, narrow colored ribbons, plastic eyes, glue and scissors.

Operating procedure:

  1. To create one bird we take 5 cotton pads. We cut one disk into two halves, and leave four whole.
  2. We fix two pairs of cotton pads on a skewer with glue so that it is inside. One pair of disks plays the role of the bird's head, and the other - the body.
  3. We glue the halves of the cut cotton pad to the body on both sides - these will be our wings.
  4. Glue the eyes and beak, cut out from a piece of colored paper, to the head and decorate the bird with a ribbon. A cute chick made from cotton pads for Bird Day is ready!

Owl made of colored paper - master class

You can make cute owls for celebrating Bird Day at school with your own hands from colored paper. We will need the colored paper itself, scissors, double-sided tape and glue.

Operating procedure:

  1. We make a cylinder from a sheet of colored paper, glue its edges on one side, as shown in the photo, and press down the middle so that we get ears.
  2. Cut out a heart from paper and glue it to the bottom of the cylinder - these are the owl's feet.
  3. We cut circles of equal size and glue them onto the central part of the cylinder as feathers. In order for the circles to give volume to the craft, it is better to stick them with double-sided tape.
  4. We cut out a triangle of the same color as the legs and glue it to the top of the plumage - this is the beak.
  5. Lastly, glue on the eyes by cutting out circles for them from black and white paper. Your handmade owl is ready!

DIY bird of paradise made of polymer clay - master class

These adorable birds of paradise are made from air-hardening polymer clay. This modern material is also familiar to us under the names “self-hardening plasticine”, “modeling mass” and “velvet plastic”. To make charming feathered creatures, we will need aluminum wire with a diameter of 1 mm, polymer clay, foil, scissors, pliers, a stack, a glass for rolling out clay, a little patience and diligence.

Operating procedure:

  1. We create three birds at once - while we are sculpting one, the rest are drying out. We cut the wire twice as long as the planned tail. We wrap half the wire with foil, crumpling it and forming the body of the bird.
  2. We make legs from wire, as shown in the photo, and insert them into the body. We take a piece of clay, shape it into a sausage shape, then roll it out and flatten it. Carefully remove the wire from the bird, place it inside the clay sausage, rolling it up using a glass. We insert the finished colored tail back into the body. In the same way we prepare the remaining two birds.
  3. We take a piece of blue, yellow and red clay, roll them out and gradually, smearing them with our fingers, stick them around the birds until the entire foil is covered. We will get three blanks of bright birds.
  4. Starting from the center, we stick around the paws. Then we take a piece of clay of the appropriate color and make the cheeks, crown and beak. We sculpt eyes from balls of black clay, not forgetting to squeeze out the upper and lower eyelids around them.
  5. Create a tail and crest. To do this, we cut off several wires of the length we need and roll them into clay. When it dries, we round off the ends using pliers and insert the tail parts into the bird’s body. We make shorter feathers from thin clay sausages by twisting the ends.
  6. We create the plumage effect by placing pieces of clay rolled out in the form of droplets on the body and working with a needle in the direction of feather growth. Using a needle, we create featheriness throughout the bird’s body. To make the eyes shine, you can coat them with varnish. A wonderful hand-made bird of paradise is ready!

For needlewomen familiar with the isothread technique, it will not be difficult to create paintings with beautiful white swans with their own hands and decorate with them a holiday dedicated to Bird Day. For creativity, it is better to use floss or iris. On the wrong side of the cardboard we draw a swan and draw waves. We divide the drawing into details, drawing figures of different sizes, and embroider using the isothread technique.

Woolen threads make a very charming feathered creature. You can easily create it with your own hands according to a simple and understandable scheme.
