Envelope for money for a wedding

Money is often given as a gift for a wedding or wedding anniversary. And you simply cannot do without a beautiful envelope for this purpose. This template will look great printed even on plain paper.

Universal envelope for money

I needed an envelope here for one thing (I wanted to convey my congratulations sealed), and since the card was of a non-standard size, I had to quickly make an envelope with my own hands (fortunately, I have enough paper at home). And then everything was as usual - I showed it to my friends, and now I’m already making invitation envelopes for one, and the other is asking for a template for an envelope for money to present a large sum to her husband’s parents for their golden wedding.

I decided, without further ado, to simply write a short instruction on how to make envelopes. Yes, it seems to me that this is obvious, and everyone can guess how to fold a piece of paper and glue it to make an envelope, but as practice shows, many people find it easier to work according to instructions, especially when it comes to needlework.

For what? My husband asked me this question when he saw me burying myself in my scrapbooks. He seems to understand the purpose of postcards, but envelopes turned out to be something beyond our reach. So, what are envelopes for?

  • as packaging for letters (yes, some people write paper letters and send postcards);
  • for packing cards - printing an envelope is much more exciting than just opening a greeting card;
  • handmade money envelopes will come in handy when you want to give someone a certain amount of money;
  • for romantic notes and secrets.
Of course, with the exception of mail, all these reasons are not a necessity, but rather a whim. But here I am more categorical than ever - sometimes you need to allow yourself joy and whim just for pleasure, otherwise life will become boring and gray. And handmade gifts are perfect for this.

Different ways

There are many ways to pack a postcard, money or letter so that strangers cannot look into them, and, perhaps, talking about all the ways is a bad idea, the post will turn out to be too long and a rare bird will fly to its end. Therefore, we will do the following - I will tell you about the main ways to make an envelope for money with your own hands, and at the same time I will show you the works that inspire me. Using basic techniques and templates, you can make an envelope for any occasion with your own hands.

By the way, about templates: I advise you to save the templates you like, so you can be sure that you always have them at hand. I created a regular folder on my desktop where I put the pictures I like in Word files. However, I will talk about using word further.

Simple option

Sometimes you have to make a regular postal envelope for a letter or postcard yourself - either the nearest store doesn’t have it, or the format is inappropriate. I usually use a sample for this - I take an existing envelope (for example, from a postcard), measure it with a ruler and make the same paper envelope. But you can go the other way and learn how to make an envelope from A4 paper.

And in order for you to get an ordinary rectangular envelope, you need to mark a pattern on it, as in the diagram.

The two large parts are the walls of the envelope, it also has a long turn-down flap, and the sides that need to be glued. It is best to glue it inside, so that there are no seams on the outside. Make a mark on your piece of paper, cut out the piece with sharp scissors, and then glue the sides.

Or you can make this simple and cute option:

And from 4 circles you can get the following envelope:

The video shows how to assemble it:

How to decorate such an envelope from A4 sheet:

  1. Use watercolor paper on which you can create colorful splashes and streaks.
  2. Make beautiful stickers - you can use ready-made ones, or you can download any picture from the Internet and print it.
  3. You can tie it up.

Manufacturing method without glue

Gluing an envelope is not difficult, but simply folding it out of paper is a little more difficult. Of course, the post office is unlikely to accept such an envelope, but for an accompanying card for a gift it is perfect - the congratulations will look cute and touching.

How to make an envelope without glue: you need to look through the origami templates and choose the one you like; make a pattern; cut the workpiece; fold and iron well. Or you can fold the paper as in the video below: no scissors or glue is needed, just an A4 sheet.

At first glance, everything is easy, right? The second one is also easy, but I advise you to still try to make the beautiful envelopes you like with your own hands, first from plain paper, and only then from scrapbooking paper. Of course, you can immediately practice on scrap paper, but it’s not a fact that the envelope will turn out neat the first time, and creases made on thick scrap paper will be much more difficult to correct.

How to decorate an envelope folded from paper without glue:

  • punch several holes with a hole punch and tie a beautiful ribbon on the envelope;
  • use a figured hole punch to decorate the edges and corners of the envelope;
  • make an applique from contrasting paper or special cutting.

Origami

I admit honestly, origami is a dark forest for me, but I have made several such envelopes (although, of course, I prefer scrapbooking money envelopes). So, what does it take to make an origami envelope for money?
  1. Square sheet of paper.
  2. Ruler for straight bends.
  3. Rolling needle (if you are folding origami from thick paper).

By the way, you can make an origami envelope out of paper without glue, which is also sometimes very convenient, but such envelopes are not suitable for mail. However, they are very, very beautiful, and it seems to me that if you use such an envelope for money for a birthday, the birthday person will feel all your care and attention.

Complex options

I’ll tell you a little about how to make scrap envelopes not according to a lesson, but simply using master classes for inspiration.

Scrapbooking is good because it allows you to make envelopes, postcards, albums and other amenities from literally nothing. Yes, now you can buy a variety of scrapbooking kits, but if you think about it, this technique came to us from the past, when women simply decorated their personal diaries and albums with lace, cutouts, and stamping. All these techniques can be used now.

If you are into scrapbooking (or, like me, you just periodically buy materials and can’t pass them by), then you have certain supplies - lay them out on the table and try to combine one with the other. For example, select a couple of sheets of paper, match them with cuttings, decorative tape, and ribbons.

If you don’t have all this stuff, don’t be upset, and you don’t have to run to the store. Because you probably have something. And from this something you can most likely make a gift envelope. What may be useful:

  • scraps of cardboard, beautiful colored paper;
  • felt and decorative fabrics;
  • unnecessary postcards and photographs;
  • printouts with any patterns;
  • paper of different quality and purpose (even pieces of wallpaper will do);
  • ribbons, bows, laces;
  • buttons (by the way, a very fashionable trend in scrapbooking);
  • miniature figures;
  • trimmings of lace and thin fabrics;
  • nail polishes, decorative glitter and even unnecessary shadows (they are used to make pseudo-craquelure).
I think you already understand - almost anything can be used to make an envelope!

I will give a step-by-step video lesson that I liked - I have nothing to add here, except that a DIY wedding envelope or an envelope for a gift card using this MK will be very, very beautiful.

General templates and some more lessons and examples

I think now you more or less understand how to make an envelope out of paper with your own hands, and my other examples of how to make an envelope for money are just inspirational speeches and various life hacks in this regard, because you got the main idea.

If the envelope for money for a wedding with your own hands is not very neat, wrap it with lace - it will hide the flaws and at the same time give the product a finished and festive look. A small envelope can be wrapped entirely, but a large envelope is better draped gracefully. By the way, a wedding card is usually large so that the toast can fit in it. If you just want to attach a card to a gift, or a certain amount of money, then it is better to use a small congratulatory envelope.

If you are making an envelope from paper without glue, then support this idea in the design - for example, fold several origami figures with your own hands and decorate an envelope for money with them on your birthday - for example, you can fold a flower, a heart or a crane, which represents a wish for happiness .

Don't want to sign the envelope manually? See how to make an envelope out of paper for money using word templates. You can download the money envelope template below. Choose your favorite templates.

There is another way - first you print wishes or an address on a printer, and then watch a master class on how to make an envelope from a sheet of the required format.

How to make a chic origami envelope out of paper? Take three or four sheets of paper for practice, and try to make your own beautiful envelope using this master class.

In general, do not hesitate to use Word to print diagrams - it is much easier than cutting them out. Word will also help you make a beautiful inscription for congratulations (and we don’t write too smoothly). If you use self-adhesive paper to print a Word file, you don’t even have to decorate a regular paper envelope with anything - you can download the simplest template and decorate it with stickers.

If you need a lot of envelopes for a holiday (for example, for wedding invitations), then it is better to use folded envelopes - this category of products looks very presentable, they are made quickly, and if you do not use glue, then the likelihood of spoiling something is much less.

Don’t forget that any master class needs to be watched and completed step by step - first watch it in full, and then repeat what the master does - first print it, then fold it, then glue it. This way you can get the same result as shown in the photo.

Greetings! When you want to congratulate your loved ones with a craft, a card or the equivalent of money, you want to package it all beautifully.

That's why there are so many beautiful paper envelopes. You can very easily make them yourself, especially since I have selected options for you to suit every taste: from simple to original.

But these pockets can be used not only as an attachment to a gift, but also have everyday functions, for example, to protect a disk or to decorate a corner in a girl’s album.

For many years it has been popular to give money for any significant event, but simply handing it over is not very polite, so it needs to be framed as a gift. And the envelope will help you and me with this.

It can be rectangular to the size of the banknotes, or you can create an original one, for example, square.

I liked the idea where a paper heart is used as the basis for the entire craft. Then, using a ruler, folds are made in the middle of the hemispheres. Along these lines, the heart is folded and fixed with glue for reliability.

I’m also presenting a master class on how to quickly arrange a cash gift for a birthday. By the way, all the ideas are also suitable for weddings, because this is also the birthday of a unit of society - a family.

I liked the laconic and elegant design, how you can give money to a man or boss.

I also found an unusual option that also combines the functionality of a postcard.

To quickly create a gift design, use the most popular template.

Using it, we make envelopes that can be decorated in an unusual way if you glue an insert with a message inside.

This is how it is done step by step.

It is better to take double-sided paper and not very thick, so that creases do not appear on the folds.

If you need to make packaging according to the size of the banknote, then I suggest using the template below. Everyone's currency is different, it may not necessarily be rubles, so I deliberately do not give the sizes. To avoid mistakes, measure your banknote.

In craft stores there are many different backgrounds for creativity, including paper lace from which you can create such tenderness.

For a gift for a schoolchild or student, use a pencil as a basis.

The triangular part secures the money tightly so that it does not fall out.

1. Make a drawing on A4 sheet and cut out all the details.

2. Take this diagram as a basis. The tip can be immediately cut out of colored paper.

3. This is what the workpiece looks like when ready for completion.

4. Stick the tip on the inside and the craft is ready. The front part can be decorated with voluminous details.

Also, in order to support young happy parents who have recently discovered the joys of motherhood and fatherhood, I propose to make symbolic packaging. After all, a child’s birthday is one of the most important events in the life of every family.

Manufacturing process:

1. We will need this template with dimensions of 200 mm by 245 mm.

2. For decoration, take openwork napkins, lace or satin ribbons.

3. The wish insert diagram measures 90 mm by 155 mm.

4. The envelope needs to be bandaged, as is usually done in the maternity hospital. If a boy is born, a blue ribbon is most often used, and if a girl is born, a pink ribbon is used. But I don’t think it’s necessary to choose these particular colors.

I will provide many more templates for you below in the appropriate section. You can also use your own sizes.

Original ideas in scrapbooking technique

Scrapbooking allows you to create very delicate and cute products using different volumes, textures and backgrounds. Mixing materials such as paper, fabric and wood is popular here. The results are very cozy crafts. And there is never a shame in giving them.

Everything is closed with a tape that fits it on both sides.

The most convenient way to make folds is with a ruler. Then all the lines will be straight.

This option is assembled from three parts. The side pockets are glued to the base.

But first they need to be cut out. The length of the sides of the triangle is equal to half the length of the base.

We make hems on both parts.

An original idea for packaging, when each bill can be hidden in a separate house. And from these pockets create a whole book. Look what a wonderful book it is.

You can buy envelopes, or you can roll them yourself, see template options below. Using double-sided tape, connect all the pieces.

The front and back sides need to be decorated. To do this, take a thick sheet and wrap it with the selected background.

To glue the cover, it is better to use PVA glue.

Another envelope for money using this technique, but on a different template. It has an oblong shape.

This is how you decorate the front part of the craft. Look how many different textures there are.

All lines must be carefully bent; if you don’t have a professional tool, use a ruler.

They don’t always give only money; perhaps you want to thank the person for the service and please him by putting a chocolate bar inside, but you need it to fit exactly.

Let's take a closer look.

Take this diagram. It is better to adjust it to the size of the chocolate bar, because they also come in a square shape.

The fold lines are highlighted in dotted lines, and the places that need to be cut are highlighted in blue.

The edges can be beautifully decorated with special stamps or scissors with a curly edge.

Go along all the folds with your nail so that the workpiece takes the desired shape.

We fold and decorate our box.

I liked this design because sometimes you want to please someone by giving them a sweet treat. And this idea allows you to beautifully present such an ordinary gift. And, most importantly, it is suitable for people of any age and profession.

Simple DIY paper envelopes for discs

Discs are becoming obsolete, but they are still used not only for recording films, but also for storing information. For example, photographers and videographers can still present them to you with a recording of a wedding or other celebration. Of course, it is customary to store such ceremonial attributes in a beautiful design.

For example, use tab holders on both sides of the envelope. It opens like a postcard.

Or glue a decorative pocket made of thick fabric and decorate this shell using the scrapbooking technique.

At our house, dad removed all the discs from the boxes into homemade envelopes, so they take up less storage space. If you also want to save space or simply couldn’t find a box, then this diagram will help you easily make a pocket from an A4 sheet.

There is another option to pack the disc without using scissors and glue.

I also suggest this template as an idea because it has a convenient option to close the disk.

Blue lines mark the lines that need to be bent. The width corresponds to the diameter of the disk, so we take it 12.4 cm.

An idea made of cardboard with two pockets (compartments)

What do you think of the idea of an envelope with two compartments? Its functionality immediately increases. By the way, if you increase the width of the part, then this craft can also be used to store disks, only two of them can already fit.

Manufacturing process:

1. We make a part according to the template and bend its lower ends.

2. But in advance you need to draw fold lines from the inside of the workpiece with the blunt side of a knife, this is what it will look like.

3. Make beautiful curves at the edges. You can cut out parts in advance from a different color and stick them on top of the pockets.

4. Cut along the contour and glue the edges to the base so that the compartments do not turn back.

To add originality, these same edges can be sewn on a sewing machine or decorated manually with an overcast stitch.

How to make an envelope from A4 sheet so that it closes?

The most optimal sizes are obtained from an A4 landscape sheet. You can not only give cash gifts in them, but also send letters. The post office now accepts envelopes of different colors and sizes. The main thing is to indicate the correct address and stick the correct stamp.

To make your craft more beautiful, do not take a regular white sheet; now there is paper of various shades of the same format.

You can roll this option with a wavy edge. All sizes are indicated, I think it will take you no more than five minutes.

I also offer an option from a sheet of the same format, but I would like to pay your attention not so much to the form, but to the interesting idea of closing the envelope. With the help of buttons and loops, it turned out not only very functional, but also elegant. After all, the buttons also acted as decoration.

Another similar option with buttons.

The easiest way to close it is to use a tab that fits into a slot.

Even the simplest versions of already boring forms can be made themed or designed.

The sheet can hold up to eight small pockets. You can put a wish or a small photo in each and give it to your mother, loved one or friend.

You can also close the craft with the side parts, like this option.

It is made of four circles of the same diameter.

Which bend in the middle.

And overlapping each other they form such a blank. The lower part of the parts must be glued. Since you have already rolled each circle, the blanks themselves form a square base. All that remains now is to bend them, hooking the edge of the previous part onto the next one.

A similar idea for square packaging, but with a rope bow.

Here the base that we assembled in the previous version is immediately cut out. And only semicircles are bent.

See how you can fold it step by step.

Now you need to thread a string or floss into a needle with a wide eye and make holes in two places and pull it through.

I also invite you to watch a short video that shows a master class on how to fold a letter wrapper from a landscape sheet.

A letter in this homemade design will also be accepted by any post office.

Idea with children using origami technique (step-by-step instructions)

In general, almost any envelope is made using this technique. Except for the fact that some templates are equipped with additional tabs and tabs to better secure the packaging. Therefore, you often need to use scissors to decorate them.

But, if you only have an ordinary standard sheet, then let's start learning the basics of origami. After all, this technique is much more difficult to do than a regular envelope.

So, the first scheme allows you to create a very non-standard craft with truncated ends.

The same scheme, but greatly simplified, was used to create this pocket.

A standard envelope can also be made without the use of scissors, all that is needed is your accuracy and evenness of the lines.

And, when you become masters in this technique, then try to make a package that transforms into a box.

Another detailed instruction on how to quickly assemble a package using a completely ordinary square sheet.

You will need a square piece of pretty paper. You need to find the fold line; do this by folding the sheet diagonally.

And bend one end of the resulting triangle towards itself, onto the front part. Then you need to tuck the side and hide the end inside.

Craftsmen do not stop at well-known patterns, but try to create new amazing forms.

Or I saw that the designers have developed a version of the envelope that is also an insert with information.

I offer step-by-step instructions, described in the video, for creating a craft with a heart-shaped edge. You definitely won’t see such packaging from any of the other invited guests. You will be the only owner of such a copy.

This option does not require additional design. With its original edge it already stands out and attracts the eye.

Regular templates and diagrams

Well, now it’s time to bring you the most popular and simple templates. You can use anyone as a basis and know for sure that you will always get an envelope.

There are patterns with and without liners, rectangular and square, with round corners and regular ones, etc.

A template with dimensions so that you don’t have to guess and run around with a ruler to the banknotes.

Pattern with a beautiful wavy top.

Complex idea with gluing allowances.

Another simple option for wrapping a cash gift.

Using the dimensions indicated above, you can create this shape.

Or limit yourself to 16 centimeters and simply wrap a gift at the bottom.

Girls will definitely like the following scheme.

Here, straight lines show where the folds need to be made.

This package can easily fit a chocolate bar.

And another option for rectangular packaging.

Thank you for your attention. Use any of the options described above to show that you spent your time preparing for the holiday and wanted to make the newlyweds happy. After all, homemade beautiful things have no analogues and are very highly valued.
