Download the origami tank diagram. Origami paper tank: detailed step-by-step instructions and video materials

The art of creating figures using the origami technique is several hundred years old. It is believed that it was originally invented in China after the invention of paper, but it became most widespread among Japanese craftsmen. Figurines made using this technique served as gifts during wedding ceremonies, holiday souvenirs, or simply cute tokens of attention. Classic origami designs use neither scissors nor glue, but only one sheet of thin, often colored, double-sided paper. However, in the twentieth century, the art of modular origami began to gain popularity - making figures from many small identical elements.

Using origami technique we create a tank from paper with diagrams

Traditionally, figurines are made in the shape of flowers and animals; images of butterflies, dragons, and cranes are popular.

However, the art of origami continues to develop and modern masters come up with new and new unusual patterns. Surely many people have been able to fold boats and airplanes since childhood. But I want to explore new horizons. And in this article we will tell you how to make a paper tank. Such a figurine will pleasantly surprise not only a fan of the World of Tanks game, but can also serve as an excellent souvenir for Defenders of the Fatherland Day.

We will need: 1 ordinary double-sided notebook sheet
Let's start making a tank:

1) Fold the sheet in half. It is necessary to divide it horizontally into two parts (a slight deviation from the canonical rules, our figurine will be made of two sheets). From the first part we will make the body. To do this, let's expand the strip. On the right, fold the corners and bend them back. We got intersecting stripes. Bending the side edges to the horizontal axis, fold the right side of the strip into a double triangle

2) We bend the corners of the front part to the right vertex. Now we have a square in our hands. We bend its upper and lower corners to the horizontal. The remaining corners need to be tucked into the resulting pockets. We perform exactly the same actions with the left side.jpg

3) We fold the upper and lower parts to the horizontal axis. Let's turn the figure over. Fold the right side to the left so that the upper and lower triangles align with the vertical. Similarly, we fold the left part to the right, placing it on top of the previous fold. Move the overlaid part to the left. Let's raise the corners. Let's tuck the shifted part under the right stripe, and tuck the corners a little higher, under the folds of the deformed square.

Making tank tracks.

Turn the figure over. At the top and bottom we fold strips of the top layer 1 cm wide towards the center. This will create triangular folds in all four corners. Again, fold the strips towards the center so that the edges coincide with the fold lines obtained in the previous fold. We will place all four laid aside strips perpendicular to the plane of the workpiece. We have the chassis of an origami paper tank ready, along with protective shields.

We make the turret and cannon of the tank.

1) Remember, we still have one more strip of paper? This is when it will come in handy! It needs to be divided into two parts. Bend the first one in half. Let's add the upper and lower parts to the resulting inflection line. Let's turn the figure over. Let's add the corners (now we already know how to do this) and transform the right side into a double triangle.

2) Fold the corners of the front layer to the horizontal axis. Next, the left side needs to be turned into a double triangle. Alternately lifting the triangles of the front layer on the left side, fold the upper and lower halves horizontally. We tuck the folded parts under the corners on the right and left. Place the left side on the right side so that the corners folded on the right fit into the folds between the folds on the left.

3) Bend the protruding triangles and the back part at an angle of 90 degrees. We have one more sheet left. We divide it in two. Let's roll up a tube from the first part, this will be the tank's combat cannon. On the left side it needs to be pressed down a little. We put the crushed part into the hole in the tower. On the body of the figurine, we will put the protruding petals together and tuck them into the fold in the bottom of the tower. When investing, they will look in different directions.

4) Our paper tank is ready! In some ways it resembles the famous T-34 model.

Of course, this is just one of many similar models using the origami technique and it is designed for beginners who love paper art. For example, schoolchildren can easily master it in order to organize paper battles on their desks among pencil cases and textbooks. Experienced origamists can try folding other types of tanks, for example, IS-7, Abrams and many others. However, for complex images of technology, modular origami is more suitable, providing the master with unlimited possibilities for depicting even small details.

Video on the topic of the article

If, after viewing the diagrams for making origami, you still have some questions, or perhaps you have a desire and inspiration to assemble another tank model, we suggest watching the following videos.

With this article you will learn how to make a paper tank with your own hands. This instruction includes 2 options for making such crafts. They vary in complexity and technique. The first master class is quite simple and quite suitable for beginners. The second is labor-intensive and complex. If you don't have any experience with origami, try a simpler one first.

A paper tank sounds quite serious. It seems that making such a craft is very difficult. And this is not true at all! Given some free time and some patience, you can easily create one. Read on and you will learn how to make a paper tank with your own hands.

Materials and tools:

  • plain or colored A4 paper;
  • gray pencil;
  • thin metal ruler;
  • PVA or stationery glue;
  • scissors.

How to make a simple tank out of paper

This craft is easy to make and perfect for beginners. To make it, you will need one sheet of A4 colored paper, a small piece of paper in a contrasting color, scissors and a pencil.

Production time – 20 minutes
Difficulty level – easy.

Step 1: Make the folds
Take a standard A4 sheet of paper.

Fold it in half lengthwise.

Fold the top left corner to the bottom edge. Iron the folds well and unfold.

In the same way, fold the bottom left corner to the top edge. Expand.

You should end up with cross-shaped folds.

Step 2: Form the Flaps
Place the craft vertically. Fold the right corner down.

Divide the bottom side into 2 equal parts.

Leave the first part in place, and fold the second to the lower right corner.

Repeat on the left side.

At the top in the foreground you should have a regular triangle.

Repeat on the other side.

Step 3: Narrow the Middle
Fold the bottom side towards the center line.

Fold the paper right down the middle and turn it back toward the bottom edge.

Iron all the folds with an iron ruler so that they are even and neat.

Step 4: Form the Tower
Fold the bottom corner of one of the triangles up.

Lift the right one up as well.

Roll the craft into a cylinder with all the formed elements facing up.

Insert the “arrow” inside the square.

Fold the remaining two corners of the “arrow” into the lower pockets so that you get it as follows (see photo below).

Step 5: Add a Muzzle
Take a small rectangle of a contrasting shade.

Roll it into a thin tube.

Insert the tube inside the tower. Ready!

How to make a paper tank with a rotating turret

To create this origami you will need:

  • 1 sheet of A4 paper,
  • scissors,
  • pencil,
  • iron ruler,
  • glue,
  • a thin object for smoothing out small wrinkles.

Production time – 1 hour
Difficulty: medium

Step 1: Form the Undercarriage
Take a sheet of A4 paper.

Fold it in half, and then in quarters. Cut the sheet into 2 equal parts in the middle, that is, into 2 long strips (in the photo these strips are folded in half in width).

Take one of the strips and divide it into 2 parts in width, that is, in fact you should have 2 quarters of an A4 sheet in your hands. Set one quarter aside and work with the other.
Fold the quarter sheet in half.

Expand. Fold the bottom side towards the center line.

Fold the right side towards the center as well.

Roll the craft into a cylinder.

Press this cylinder down.

Bend all corners of the resulting figure by approximately 0.5 cm.

Fold all the corners inside the shape.

Use a metal ruler to smooth out the folds to make them more pronounced.

Fold the top flap towards the center of the figure.

Repeat on the other side.

Lift the right semicircular pocket at the bottom slightly. Make it longer.

Repeat this on all 4 sides.

Tuck the outer flaps on both sides to the highest point.

Turn the craft over. Fold the corners up approximately 0.5 cm.

Repeat on all 4 sides.

Fold the folded corners back down.

Place the side elements perpendicular to the axis.

Using the previously folded folds, bend the craft upward along its perimeter.

The chassis is ready.

Step 2: Make undercarriage protection
Take the second quarter of an A4 sheet.

Fold the top edge about 0.6 cm, then fold it over again. You need to wrap the paper in one direction 2 times. When folding, it is convenient to use a metal ruler.

Repeat on the opposite side.

Place the protection on the chassis. The width of the first should be approximately 0.1-0.2 cm longer than the second.

Fold the extreme corners along the folds on one side by approximately 0.5 cm.

Fold the corners inward along the curved lines.

Iron the folds with a ruler.

Tuck the outermost element up so that the “horns” stick out to the side.

Turn the craft over and insert the chassis into it. The latter should fit comfortably and tightly into the protection.

Draw a line with a pencil for the second edge of the protection.

Fold the paper inward at the marked point.

Fold the corners on the second side of the protection approximately 0.5 cm. Fold the corners inward along the marked folds.

Fold the rear flaps down, reducing their width by approximately 2 times. Make them longer.

Repeat on the other side.

Take protection and chassis. Put the first one on the second one and check how well they fit together. If necessary, correct minor defects by lengthening or shortening the protection accordingly.

Step 3: Make the fixing element
At this stage you need to make a fixing element for the chassis and protection on which you will put the tower. Also, with its help, the tower will be able to rotate in different directions.
Take the second half of the A4 sheet.

Fold the right edge towards the center line. Unbend.

Cut a quarter of this piece along the folded line.

Fold the paper in half lengthwise and mark creases along the edges.

Fold both edges towards the center along the marked folds.

Fold the corner down on the right.

On the opposite side, also bend the corner so that you get a triangle in the foreground.

Expand. You should end up with cross-shaped folds.

Fold the side flaps inward along the marked folds so that you have a triangle in the foreground.

Fold the left corner from the bottom side up.

Repeat on the other side. You should have the following figure.

Fold the bottom side towards the center line.

Fold the top side towards the center as well.

Place the craft on the chassis so that the square element is exactly in the center.

Next, you begin to bend the figure around the chassis. Make sure that it follows all the contours of the element placed inside.

Wrap the craft around the chassis completely. Trim off any excess length.

Insert one edge of the element into the other so that the square is located at the top at the center point.

————————————————-
Disconnect the fastening.

Place the guard on top of the chassis.

Wrap these parts again with an element with a square at the top. Some actions will be quite difficult to perform, but do not rush, act carefully and you will succeed.

The lower part of the tank is ready!

Step 4: Make a Tower
Cut out a square with a side of approximately 6-7 cm. Bend it along both diagonals.

Fold the paper in half.

Fold the corners down to create a perfect triangle.

Turn the figure over.

Fold the left corner towards the top.

Repeat on the other side.

Rotate the craft. Fold the side corners to the center line so that they are slightly shifted upward.

Insert the lower flap on the right side into the pocket located at the bottom of the side flap.

Insert the right flap into the pocket as well. It should look like this.

Turn the craft over.

Lift the inner pockets slightly upward.

Turn the pocket slightly outward.

Repeat on the other side.

Fold the top corner down. You have made the base for the tower.

Step 5: Make the Turret Guard and Muzzle
Cut out a piece of paper measuring 8 cm x 6 cm. For this work, you can use paper of the same shade that you previously used or use a contrasting color. We used a different shade and it really looks cute! If you use different shades of paper for each element, it will look original and fresh!

Fold the piece in half in width. Next, you need to fold this paper in three along the points indicated by the arrows in the photo below.

Here the paper is already folded in three.

Open one spread. Fold the lower left corner from bottom to top. In the same way, symmetrically fold the right corner to the top. Pull the middle up and fold the craft in half. Gently pull the inner valve upwards.

Unfold the craft.

Decorate the third part on the other side of the craft in the same way.

Make sure that the internal valves are placed symmetrically.

Take your tower.

Insert one edge of the green guard into the inner pocket at the top of the tower.

From the bottom side, insert the protection into the inner pocket at the bottom of the tower. Cut off the excess length of the protection.

Fold the cut corner into the middle.

Place the defense on the tower and secure both elements. If necessary, use a little glue.

Cut a small rectangle to fit the circumference of the tower.

Roll it into a thin strip.

Bend one end of the strip perpendicularly and fold it in half to form a small triangle at the top.

Insert this end inside between the green guard and the tower.

Wrap the strip around the tower. Insert its other end on the other side of the protection. If necessary, secure the work with glue.

Roll a tube from a thin piece of paper and secure with glue. This will be the muzzle.

Place the turret on the chassis. To do this, insert the square located at the top of the chassis into the internal pockets at the bottom of the tower.

Place the barrel inside the tower and secure it with glue.

The work is ready!

We tried to tell you in as much detail as possible and show you the technique for making this tank. But if you still have questions and you don’t fully understand how to make this paper tank correctly, watch the following video.

I will tell and demonstrate a rather complex origami-style master class on how to make a tank out of paper with your own hands, and I will demonstrate the correct patterns for making this craft. We only need a few sheets of paper. No additional tools or materials are needed. The craft for children is difficult, much easier, or. A paper tank needs to be created with step-by-step help, which I will now demonstrate to you.

How to make a paper tank with your own hands

Take a regular sheet of paper. If for many other homemade products it was necessary to make a square out of a rectangle, then here we do not tear anything off and do not spoil the A4 sheet.

Fold the sheet in half.

Fold the lower left corner towards the top.

Bend it back and bend the top corner to the bottom.

Bend it back again and you get two sides. We do the same with the right side, bend the bottom corner.

Then the top one needs to be folded.

We completely lay out the workpiece and see what happens. On the left and right are the marked edges crosswise.

Now we bend one quarter inward from above and on the left side of the workpiece.

And the opposite bottom is similar.

Do the same on the right side. And this is what we got.

Now the intermediate rectangular thresholds between the triangular edges need to be bent inward.

And we bend them halfway, but back. Those. we bent them all the way, and then again but in the opposite direction back.

Working again with the triangular left edge. We bend the top corner towards the center.

We bend the bottom one in the same way.

And now the most difficult moment in making a paper tank. We need to roll this blank into a ring. Firstly, the triangle on the right in the center can be bent and the corners raised up, then it will become clearer. Secondly, the right edge should fit into the grooves on the left that we made. Below is a step-by-step explanation in the photo, I hope it will be clear to you.

This is how we twist the workpiece into a ring.

We directly insert the right part into the left one, we get a kind of lock.

View from a different angle, naturally you need to connect the corners all the way.

The second important point is to turn both corners. Here's how it's done.

Fold it in until it stops and bend it completely.

Another angle by analogy. And it turned out to be a tank turret.

Side view, there is a turret and oval tracks, like a real tank.

Now let's create the barrel. Take a piece of paper of a different color; the size and length of the piece are not important.

We begin to twist the sheet from one edge, in this case on the right.

At a certain point we stop, if we are satisfied with the thickness of the winding, we tear off the unnecessary part. You can trim the barrel to length.

We insert the muzzle into the hole on the tank's turret, it must be there, you may have to widen it a little.

That's all, the craft is ready. Now you know how to make a paper tank with your own hands. You can make a lot of similar origami crafts using this pattern.

Print Thank you, great lesson +4

This origami craft model is a T-90 tank. Both children and adults will enjoy making it. And to make it come out beautiful, refer to this master class.

  • A4 sheet of paper
  • A small rectangle of the same tone

Step-by-step photo lesson:

Fold the A4 sheet in half.

Now you can bend the lower side corners up.

Open and bend the top and side corners down.

We open and finally bend the sides halfway so that the resulting vertical fold line passes through the center of the intersection of the two folds.

Let's open it. On each side we begin to bend the sides so that they turn into triangles. To do this, bend both fingers at the bottom and top sides. Close them together and place them on the left side. These folded sides will hide under one corner.

Let's do the same on the other side.

Then, without touching the side corners, bend the lower horizontal side in half upwards.

Then we will do the same with the upper part.

Bend these sides back halfway. We choose one side. For example, the right one. Bend the side corners to the center.

We completely turn over our tank blank. Let's divide the entire segment into three equal parts. To do this, we will make fold lines so that we know the boundaries.

We first sew the right part, and on top of it - the left.

Bend the corners of the triangle to the top point. Then we will open it.

On the sides of this triangle you can find “pockets”. That’s why we hide the side corners there along a bent line.

We connect one part to another. We straighten our finished paper tank.

Finally, we'll make him a cannon. After all, what is a tank without a gun?! To do this, take a small rectangle and roll it into a tube. If necessary, you can secure the edges with glue.

We insert the cannon into the small hole.

With this our T-90 paper tank is ready. You can color it with colored pencils or felt-tip pens at your discretion.

Using the origami technique you can make not only airplanes, flowers, ships, but also tanks. This type of technology attracts all children, especially boys. Of course, you can buy store-bought toys, but making a paper tank is much more interesting. This type of applied art helps children develop: they become more dexterous and neat, they develop imagination, etc.

Origami is used by speech therapists, is used for disorders of the child’s psyche and deviations of the musculoskeletal system. Paper products can be used to decorate shop windows, apartments, and be used as entertainment at children's parties. Creating geometric shapes helps children develop better.

Japan is considered the birthplace of origami. Not so long ago, in this country, paper models had a special meaning; they were used for religious ceremonies, weddings, and people from the social elite gave them to each other. But in the 20th century, origami spread to Europe and the USA, after which this art has a lot of fans. Later, schematic symbols for different figures appeared. Each subsequent action was indicated by a number. Due to this, it has become easier to manufacture this or that model, including a tank.

There are different levels of difficulty in making origami: the most ordinary figures are for beginners, the most difficult ones are for professionals.

In the first version, an object is created from one sheet of paper by correct folding, and in the second, from several or more sheets of paper, this technique is called modular origami.

Historical information about tanks

Before you start making a tank, you need to tell your child about its purpose, tell the history of its origin, and so on. Tanks are weapons of the ground forces, used to suppress enemy ground troops and equipment. They play an important role in all military operations.

According to official sources, the first tank was invented at the beginning of the 20th century. According to another version, the fighting machine was invented by Leonardo da Vinci himself. The first model looked like a wooden box with wheels, which had holes for firing. Subsequently, the leading powers of the world picked up this useful idea and expanded their combat arsenal. Further tank models were modernized and improved to this day.

The first military equipment was used by the British in the First World War. Opponents appreciated the capabilities of such an all-terrain vehicle on tracks.

Manufacturing principles

Today there are many patterns and lessons on creating tanks using the origami technique. You can easily and quickly make a paper tank T-34, IS, and also T-80. For fun, it would be nice to work out all the schemes, but first it’s better to practice on the classic method of making a paper tank. The child will readily become interested in this interesting activity. After making ten copies, you can begin the tank battle. Assembly principle:

  1. First, the novice master takes a green sheet of paper. The turret and body of the vehicle will be made from the material. Another sheet is needed for the barrel. The model is made without the use of glue.
  2. An origami tank is made up of two parts: first the body, tracks and turret are made, then the cannon. The barrel is attached last. You will need a small rectangular piece of paper.
  3. The barrel should be long. If it is too short, the model will turn out unaesthetic.

The assembly principles are clear, now you need to proceed directly to the construction of an origami paper tank.

Step-by-step installation

The initial step involves purchasing a landscape sheet of paper. You can use colored paper or paint a craft from a white sheet in khaki color. The scheme for making a tank from origami modules includes the following steps:

The tower is done. The next task is to make the model body and attach the barrel.

Final work

To make the body voluminous, you should inflate the craft through the hole where the barrel will be installed. During inflation, the tank must be held with hands on all sides so that the bends do not become detached.

The barrel should be cylindrical. You need to cut a rectangular piece of paper and wrap it tightly around a toothpick. After this, the paper should be unrolled and twisted even more tightly. After such manipulation the barrel will not unwind. The toothpick is removed at the end. The barrel is installed in the front hole of the turret. After this, the tank tracks are straightened. This is done gradually so that the paper does not tear.

The craft is ready. All that remains is to color it if necessary. A dozen such models can be made in a short time. To make a tank battle more interesting, you can make paper trees and other objects that will improve the real picture of the battle. The child will undoubtedly enjoy the art of origami, and he will want to make other objects on his own: cars, animals, and the like.

More complex scheme

This is a different technique for making a tank and requires glue to join the parts together. You need to print out the diagram of the tank on a printer and glue all the parts together. If there are no color inks on the printer, you can print the diagram in black and white, and then color the structure according to the sample. For large parts of the craft, special photo paper is used, and for small parts, thin office paper sheets are suitable.

To ensure that the folds are even, you will have to use a ruler, applying it to certain lines and bending the paper. You should also use a ruler when cutting out parts if a stationery knife is used for this. It is important to assemble the tank step by step so as not to get confused in the details. To connect the parts of the craft, use transparent acrylic glue or something similar. The ends of the parts must be painted.

If everything is done correctly, the result will be a beautiful tank that will complement the master’s collection. In addition to the T-34, you can use other patterns and assemble all the tank models from the famous online computer game World of Tanks.
