How much do polymer clay bouquets cost? Realistic and practical - wedding bouquet made of polymer clay: master class

Polymer clay - unique material, with which you can create amazing sculptures, jewelry, crafts and bouquets. It was invented in Germany in 1930 for making dolls, but later in the 1960s clay became widespread and began to be used for making all sorts of things.

Very popular products made from polymer clay are flowers and floral bouquets. To learn how to sculpt flowers, you don't have to be a sculptor or have super artistic abilities. It is enough to have good taste, know the basics of modeling, be patient and practice a lot.

There are several types of clay: self-hardening and firing. For flowers and floral arrangements, as a rule, the first one is perfect. After manufacturing, after a certain time, the product will harden on its own. Fired clay is usually used for products that must be very durable, for example, for decorations.

1) Polymer clay for beginners flowers. Polymer clay kala

These simple calla flowers are super easy to make and only take a few minutes to make. In this case, the flower is decorated with beads and attached to a hook, so the result is very simple but cute earrings.

What you will need:

- Clay of two colors

- Latex gloves

- Toothpick

- Knife

- Beads and hook earrings

Let's get started:

Take two small pieces of polymer clay in different colors that match each other. You will need two colors in order to get a "marbled" pattern. You can practice on clay of the same color first.

Roll each piece into long sausages.

Wrap one around the other.

Then roll into a ball.

Do this process again from the beginning. This is necessary to obtain a marble effect. Wrap one sausage around another and then tear it into several pieces. After this, roll into a ball, as shown in the photo:

Divide the ball into two equal parts with a sharp knife.

Then start sculpting the flowers. Make a flat, round plate and slightly extend the edge. Pinch the edge with your fingers, carefully fold the other edge in the same way as paper bags are folded to make a funnel.

Straighten the edges of the flower so that the bud appears to open. Use a toothpick to make a hole to insert the beads and earring.

The blank for the future earring is ready. Insert accessories and beads.

2) Modeling flowers from polymer clay. Polymer clay lily

You will have to tinker a little with this flower, but if you understand the principle, everything will turn out quite simple. This master class shows how to do a very tiny lily, but you can use it to make flowers of any size.

What you will need:

- Clay of one color

- Glass rolling pin or bottle

- Knife or scissors

- Needle or awl

- Watercolor paints and brush

- Paper clip

Let's get started:

Take a small piece of clay, it is better if it is white or beige clay - the colors of natural flowers, but you can use any color you like.

Roll out the clay into a thin sheet using a rolling pin. The thickness of the sheet in this example is 3-4 times greater than the thickness of a regular sheet of paper. Make sure that the sheet is not too thin, as it will be difficult to work with.

Using a needle or awl, outline the shape of the petals - 6 pieces in total, of which three are slightly larger and three are smaller. Smaller petals will be attached closer to the stamens in the product.

Then use a fine needle to apply ribbing to each petal. Although natural lilies do not have this texture, it will look very beautiful on a polymer flower.

You should end up with petals like this:

Lilies usually have yellow central parts of their petals and brown “freckles.” These details can be applied to the petals using watercolor and a brush.

Now you should work on the inside of the flower, more precisely its stamens and pistil, which are cut out using a knife from the same flat sheet of clay. Make the pestle a little thicker and paint its tip with brown paint.

Using an awl, bend the edges of the small petals inward. Prepare a paperclip with a straightened end. A flower will be attached to it.

Let's start collecting the flower:

3) Polymer clay for flowers. Rose made of polymer clay

Roses are the most popular flowers made from polymer clay. They are usually made from many individual petals that need to be prepared in advance.

Option 1 (simple)

What you will need:

- Clay of one color

-Latex gloves

Let's get started:

Roll a sausage from a piece of clay, and then divide it into many parts - future petals. Form petals of different sizes as shown in the photo.

Fold the smallest petal to form the center of the flower, and then attach the remaining petals to it one by one, starting from the smallest to the largest.

The simplest rose is ready. It can be used for decorations if you attach fittings to it.

Option 2 (difficult)

If you've already gotten a little comfortable with a material like polymer clay, you'll likely want to learn how to make more complex projects. To do this, you will need additional materials and forms, which can be purchased in specialized stores or on the Internet.

Try making a more realistic rose using these tools.

What you will need:

- Clay of two colors

- Latex gloves

- Board for work

- Rolling pin for rolling out

- Cutting molds (for flower-shaped petals)

- Mold for pink petal (optional)

- Mold for cup (optional)

- Clay glue with brush

- Knife

- Green tape for stems

Let's get started:

Take some 20cm long flower wire and bend one end to create a hook. This is the future rose stem. Roll a piece of clay into a ball and then shape it into a drop.

Stick the wire into the base of the drop. If you have a ready-made flower mold, you can compare the droplet to the size of the petals. They need to be a little bigger to wrap it around. This is the base of your bud. The clay for the drop can be any color; it will not be visible under the petals.

Roll out the clay into a thin sheet and use a mold to cut out a five-pointed flower. If you don't have such a shape, make one from cardboard and cut out the flower using a knife. Cut off 2 petals. Then, using a stack with a ball at the end, process the edges of the petals so that they become thinner. Also use a mold for the petals.

Coat the base of the bud with glue and begin to wrap the petals around it so that you get a closed pink bud.

Take two more petals, coat them with glue where they will come into contact with the bud, and wrap them around the bud again, not so tightly.

Now prepare the triple petals. Wrap them around the bud as shown in the photo. Don't forget to coat them with glue. The more petals you have, the more magnificent the rose will be. In this case, three more triple petals were used.

After this, use the full 5 petals. Turn the bud over and press the base of the flower.

Repeat the procedure with another five-pointed flower. You should end up with a rose like this:

But that is not all. To make the flower look exactly like a real one, attach 5 more lower petals to it, each of which will be attached to a wire. Secure all the stems with ribbon or tape by wrapping them around a bundle of wire.

To make a flower cup, take a piece of green clay. Make a cup shape and roll out the edges with a thin rolling pin. Using a mold or knife, cut out a five-pointed star. For realism, trim the edges with a knife.

Treat the inside of the bowl with glue and glue it to the base of the flower, using a wire stem to make a hole. Wrap the stem with green tape.

4) Modeling flowers from polymer clay. Orchid made of polymer clay

The phaselis orchid ("butterfly") is a popular flower that is sculpted from polymer clay using molds. Molds are needed to create a realistic petal texture. if you don’t have them, you can also work, but your petals will be smooth, without veins or irregularities.

What you will need:

- Clay

- Latex gloves

- Board for work

- Rolling pin for rolling out

- Wire for artificial flowers

- Cutting molds (for the core)

- Mold for petals

- Stack with round tip

Handicrafts in all its forms are back in fashion, so brides can safely make accessories for their own wedding with their own hands - the image will be original and memorable. A wedding bouquet made of polymer clay allows you to create a bright and feminine look, while the composition will not differ from real flowers, and in some cases can become more attractive.

Features of the composition

If previously it was believed that the bride must wear an accessory made of fresh flowers, today many replacements have been invented for this solution. Polymer clay allows you to create buds that are indistinguishable from real ones, especially if you practice a little before starting to compose the main composition.

A clay wedding bouquet has several advantages.

Wedding planner

Even brides who have not worked with polymer clay before will be able to create such an accessory if they delve into the intricacies of the technique and purchase the necessary materials.

Elena Sokolova

Fortune Teller

According to the old Slavic tradition, the girl had to keep not only the wedding dress, but also the bouquet in the family, after drying it.

Tamara Solntseva

This composition will be symbolic for the wedding. The bride does not have to bother with the herbarium; just put the accessory in a decorative vase.

Interesting! Another interesting option to make a realistic bridal bouquet without fresh flowers is

Compatibility with the style of the celebration

Since you can mold anything that comes to mind from polymer clay, such a bouquet will suit any wedding style. For a classic celebration, the composition is made up of standard plants - roses, lilies, orchids or callas, all of which can be fashioned from pliable material. In this case, you can give the composition any shape, but a hemispherical one will look most harmonious. Wildflowers made from polymer clay are suitable for celebrations in boho, rustic or country style.

Artificial lavender will be useful for a Provence-themed wedding, since fresh flowers can be expensive. For a vintage wedding or shabby chic decoration, roses, peonies and eustomas are suitable.

You can create not only flowers from polymer clay - you can make all additional accessories yourself. For example, for a nautical wedding they sculpt shells, starfish, skates, anchors, steering wheels, etc., for a steampunk style - gears, nuts, bolts, springs and other mechanical parts. Even pearls and decorative greenery can be made from this material to complement the composition.

Bride's image

Depending on the colors chosen, the accessory can suit any style of the hero of the occasion. This composition will complement the look in a tight or fluffy dress, short or long, with or without a train. The same applies to other accessories - shoes, handbags, gloves, etc.

It can also be different. To, or suitable for, wildflowers - or a slightly careless composition.

It is better to make the manicure monochromatic or French, since the abundance of details on the nails will distract from the appearance of the bouquet.

DIY composition

If the bride decides to create an accessory from polymer clay herself, she will need to purchase the necessary materials. You need to buy self-hardening plastic in the desired shades - these are the future flowers.

In addition to this, you will need wire, oil paints or pastels, glue, wooden sticks (stacks) and scissors. You may also need molds for cutting out finished blanks (cutters) and templates for imprinting the texture of the petals. All this is sold in craft stores.

A beginner can make the following flowers from polymer clay:

  1. chamomile;
  2. roses;
  3. peonies;
  4. callas;
  5. orchids;
  6. lilies;
  7. daffodils.

A bouquet of daisies will look original in the hands of the bride. To make it, you will need white, green and yellow clay, as well as all the tools listed. First, the wire is covered with a layer of green plastic - this is the future stem. One end of it needs to be bent into a small loop so that the tip is directed to the side.

To create the core, you will need to roll two small balls of yellow and green clay, place the first on the second and press through a small piece of tulle to create the desired texture. Excess edges are trimmed with small scissors.

After this, the petals are made - two inflorescences are cut out of white clay using a cutter. Veins are made on one of them using a wooden stick, and the edges are torn off a little to create barely noticeable teeth at the tips. The petals are torn off from the second workpiece, processed using a stack and attached to the first in a suitable order, after which they are fixed on the stem. All elements are left until completely dry.

At the next stage, the core is glued to the center of the inflorescence. A receptacle is molded from green clay, which is attached to the bottom of the chamomile. You can give it the desired texture if you randomly make cuts 1-2 mm long with scissors. A leaf is made from plastic of the same color using an appropriate shape, which is attached to the stem.

The flower is left until completely dry and, if necessary, painted over. Ready-made daisies are attached to a hemispherical foam base with a handle, which is decorated with a satin ribbon.

Useful video: master class

If the bride wants to make her own wedding bouquet from polymer clay, the master class below will help her with this. It describes in detail the process of sculpting and subsequent coloring using paints and pastels. If you decide to create beautiful wedding bouquets from polymer clay with your own hands, the video below will greatly simplify the process.

In addition to her own bouquet, the bride can make a boutonniere for the groom or wrist flowers for the bridesmaids from polymer clay. You can decorate champagne glasses and ring cushions with matching accessories. Accessories on tables can also be made from this material in advance to save on fresh flowers. However It is not recommended to make a stand-in bouquet from polymer clay, as it will be fragile.

Creating a bridal floral arrangement from self-hardening plastic is a fascinating process. The girl will be able to have a good time and at the same time create her own image, put her own individuality and imagination into it. A handmade bouquet, indistinguishable from the real thing, will definitely be appreciated by the groom and guests.

Polymer clay has been known to the creative world since 1930. This is a material that is malleable like plasticine, but the products end up being hard, so they can please their owners for a long time. This requires either heat treatment (baking) or leaving at room temperature. We invite you to familiarize yourself with master classes that will describe how to create a bouquet from polymer clay.

Focus on peonies

We will need:

  • self-hardening polymer clay in white, red and green colors;
  • acrylic mold for creating leaves;
  • floral tape;
  • base for boutonniere;
  • pins with transparent heads;
  • special float wire (although you can take a regular one and just cover it with tape);
  • satin tape;
  • PVA glue.

To begin, knead a piece of white clay and a small piece of red clay well. Then mix them to get a pink color.

We divide the resulting piece into 20 parts measuring 1 cm and 12 parts measuring 1.5 cm.

Let's start forming the petals. To do this, we form a droplet from each piece, then flatten the thick edge, stretching it from the center to the edges and giving it a concave shape.

Now you need to connect the petals in pairs according to the principle of large to large, small to small. In this case, they are attached with a slight offset on the sides. How to do it correctly, look at the photo below.

Now we connect the smaller petal blanks into a fan. Then we twist it into a spiral.

We attach pairs of large petals around the formed bud.

Set the flower aside to dry. For now, let's take care of the leaves. Let's combine green plastic and white to get a light green shade. Then add a little green, but do not mix completely, so as to get a splash. We form a drop that is already familiar to us and apply it to the form. Then carefully detach the workpiece.

We shape the sheet, narrowing both ends. We make several pieces of different sizes.

Now you need to make closed peony buds. To do this, take the remains of the pink plastic and add red to it, and just like for the leaves, do not mix it in completely. Roll into a ball about 2 cm in diameter.

From the remaining green clay we form two or three cakes. We paste them over the pink ball.

You can watch how to make a rose from polymer clay in the video below:

Using PVA glue, attach the blanks to the wire and let them dry for a day.

Choose the number of open flowers and buds yourself, sticking to the odd number. It all depends only on your desire and imagination.

We collect the bouquet when it is ready; the stems together can be wrapped with floral tape, and on top with a matching satin ribbon.

Roses and blueberries

We will need:

  • plastic (polymer clay) yellow, blue and white;
  • floral wire and ribbon;
  • flowerpot, basket, etc.;
  • foam base.

From yellow plastic (we can mix in a little white for a more delicate color), we first form balls of different sizes, and then roll out the petals on the palm of our hand from the center to the edge. Moreover, you can do this with the pad of your finger, but you can take a special tool with a ball at the end. When all the petals are ready, roll up a droplet from the same plastic and begin to apply petals to it, starting with small ones. We place the petals overlapping each other.

Moreover, starting from the second row, we bend the top edge outward.

We stick a wire into the base of the flower and set it aside so that the plastic sets. If you choose baked clay, first put it on a skewer, stick it into a ball of foil and put it in the oven. See the plastic packaging for time and temperature.

Now let's move on to the blueberries. We take several pieces of blue plastic and mix different amounts of white into them. Then we roll them into balls. To give it a natural look, lightly squeeze the ball and put a dimple on top with the rod from the handle. We string each berry onto a wire and form a twig, wrapping it with floral tape.

We make leaves using the same principle as in the previous example. The only thing is that you can take a pure color and roll it out on your palm.

We attach them to a blueberry branch. Moreover, as we see in the photo, the berries on the branch below are not only blue, but also white, simulating unripe ones.

A bride's bouquet made of polymer clay is chosen by a woman who dreams of preserving the memory of this wonderful day for a long time. Talented craftswomen copy natural flowers so accurately that it is difficult to guess the imitation from their appearance.A wedding bouquet made of polymer clay can be made from plants that have never been found in nature.

In some cases, when making an accessory, they use their imagination, and guests begin to ask the bride from which tropical countries did they bring her this wonderful thing?

Making a bouquet is not that difficult. This requires patience, perseverance, imagination and the necessary material.

Choosing an unconventional accessory, its pros and cons

When choosing an accessory, you should pay attention to its weight, number of colors, and the presence of sharp parts. No sharp stems or imitation thorns, even if the bouquet is made up of “roses”. The bride should be comfortable. The color is chosen according to your own taste to match the dress.

Bouquets made of polymer clay have advantages compared to accessories made from fresh flowers:

  • They don't fade;
  • During the holiday, you don’t have to worry that the flowers will fade and the photo in the bride’s hands will show something that doesn’t correspond to the festive mood;
  • Such decorations sometimes look more attractive than classic ones. The colors are brighter, the flowers from which they are made are more original. Bouquet makers are not limited to the choice of flower shop assortment.

The disadvantage of polymer clay for flower bouquets is that it is a rather fragile material. If the accessory is dropped, it will no longer be possible to pick it up.

What about the traditional catching of the bride's bouquet? Prudent brides take care of this ritual in advance, purchasing a simpler bouquet, but made from living plants. But in the photo there is a wonderful bouquet in the hands of the bride.

Making flowers from polymer clay

Some people believe that an artificial accessory at a wedding is a bad omen. Long-lasting flowers are a symbol of eternal memory. They have no place at a wedding. Anyone who thinks so buys natural flowers.

It is not necessary to make a bouquet of scarlet or white roses from polymer clay and hold them in your hands during a special event. These flowers would look more appropriate on the hood of a car.

The fashion for decorating a vehicle has not changed for many years. By the way, English brides used to decorate cab doors with clay plants back in the 12th century.

Master class on making roses

It is necessary to prepare the following materials in advance:

  • polymer clay;
  • stationery knife;
  • stack;
  • rubber gloves that fit the hands;
  • toothpick or thin knitting needle;
  • a flat wooden board, similar to a hot stand.

Without a level stand it will be impossible to sculpt. Not everyone can feel the material in gloves.

If you are not afraid to get your hands dirty, you can sculpt without wearing protective equipment:

  • To begin with, a ball of such a size is separated from the material that it will later be enough for a petal. The amount of clay depends on the future size of the flower;
  • The ball is rolled, warmed in the hand, then kneaded so that a thin, flat and even - if possible - oval is obtained;
  • The plate is twisted into a loose tube diagonally, giving it the shape of a pink oblong petal. This will be the core of the future rose;
  • A semblance of the core of a rose bud is put on a toothpick.

The remaining petals are made in exactly the same way as the first, only the sizes change - each next petal is slightly larger than the previous one. All petals are adjusted to each other, tightly placing one on top of the other. The circle should be even.

Corners are formed on the outer petals, thus achieving a more accurate imitation of a rose. Now you need to sculpt a sepal and several pink leaves.

You need to act according to the already known order:

  • Make a small ball;
  • Create an oval out of it by rolling it into a thin plate;
  • Using the end of a toothpick, apply embossed veins to the leaf;
  • Bend the edges so that the cup looks “lifelike.”

Then the sculpted leaf is placed on the bud, covering the lower part of the finished inflorescence.

The process will have to be repeated 4-5 times, this is how many sepals a real rose has.

Then they roll out the polymer material thinly and wrap it around a toothpick to create a stem. Leaves formed according to the described algorithm are attached to it.

If white clay was used for the flowers, they then need to be painted with acrylic paint. In this process you can no longer do without gloves. Paint the products after the material has dried.

We choose the colors that we want. It is not necessary to stick to the traditional “pink” color. However, now flower growers have learned to grow roses of all colors and shades: ultramarine, green, even black. On average, you need to spend about an hour on 1 flower.

Delicate peonies

ClayCraft polymer clay from DecoClay is used for production. The bouquets in the master class are made from small flowers.

It is necessary to prepare, in addition to the main material:

  • acrylic mold;
  • PVA glue;
  • wire cutters;
  • ribbons;
  • floral tape;
  • floral wire;
  • tailor's pins. It is desirable that they have transparent heads.

As many balls are formed as the number of petals the flower will later have. Each ball forms a flat drop.It is rolled out in the palm of your hand, using your fingers to create a characteristic indentation in the thick part.The resulting petals are placed one on top of the other, slightly moving them diagonally.

The petals are glued together with their concave sides, just like folding spoons. The resulting fan is rolled up in a spiral. Then several large petals are formed and the inflorescence ends with them.

Sepals and leaves are molded according to a well-known pattern. This is easier to do if you have an acrylic form with a leaf pattern on it. There is no need to draw out every vein. It is enough to attach the rolled out blank to the acrylic form.

The shape of the sepals of the buds and the leaves of the plant are created.

Floral wire is used as a stem - it is wrapped with floral tape and leaves are attached to the resulting base - higher up to the flower.

In order for the color of the imitation to match the real plant, polymer clay of different colors must be mixed. Pale green comes from white and green, pink from red and white.

For final resemblance to a living plant, you need to add a bud to the peony. It is done very simply:

  • white and red clay are mixed so that stains remain on the surface;
  • an even ball rolls out;
  • 2-3 sepals are glued to it.

If the bouquet is wrapped like a real one in decorative paper, tape may not be needed.
